Lori Russell’s life of love and service began on April 18, 1962. She fully gave that life over to God on March 18, 2023, greeted in Heaven by the embraces of Gram (Pop-Pop Rhys), Daddy and her son, John Rhys. God was gracious to share her for as long as He did, as undoubtedly there is a need for Miss Lori in Heaven. During her too few years on this earth, she gave freely of her talents, advice, coy grins, and unconditional love. She held many titles that gave her immense pride: Granddaughter, Daughter, Wife, Sister, Aunt, Entrepreneur, Volunteer, Friend …. None more important than Mother or Mommy. In addition to the love and unwavering support she gave her own children, many knew Lori as their co-parent, trusted confidante, and support person as they navigated the choppy waters of family. Lori felt and showed gratitude for all things: from sunset moments with her beloved on a beach, to celebrations with friends and family, to quiet moments holding a hand, to an obscure treasure unseen by most - she found her light, her reasons. Lori asked for little, gave much, and now, she will rest. She is survived by the great love of her life - her husband, Todd; The stars in her sky - her children, Kerri (Nicholas), Nicole (David); Jacob, and Nicole; her siblings, Nancy (Roger), Bobby (Marie), Barbara; as well as many nieces and nephews. Her legacy will live on through those who felt the strength and immortality of her love. A memorial service will be held Saturday March 25, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. from the Edwards & Russin Funeral and Cremation Services Inc. 717 Main St. Edwardsville with the Rev. James Quinn officiating. Friends and relatives may call Friday March 24, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday March 25, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. till time of service at the funeral home.
