Obituary of Melissa A. Hossage

Melissa A. Hossage (Missy), 60, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
She was born in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of William Hossage of Wilkes-Barre and the late Margaret Jean Kepp Hossage. Melissa was a graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School, class of 1982. She was employed for over 25 years at TGI Friday’s in Wilkes-Barre. Melissa was a member of St. Nicholas-St. Mary’s Parish in Wilkes-Barre.
Melissa was an avid Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins fan and a member of its Booster Club. She loved music, bus trips and concerts. Her two favorite bands were Bush and Screaming Broccoli. Melissa enjoyed watching I Love Lucy, the Wizard of Oz and playing games on her iPad.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Paul M. Moran in 2024.
Melissa is survived by her father, William Hossage and by her sister, Christina A. Moran of Wilkes-Barre. She is also survived by her nephews, Paul W. Moran and his girlfriend, Ally Wootton and Casey J. Moran and his wife, Karen; along with numerous cousins.
A celebration of Melissa’s life will begin with a visitation on Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 1 – 2 pm at the Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, followed by a service at 2 pm, Rev. Joseph D. Verespy, Pastor of St. Nicholas-St. Mary’s Parish will officiate.
