William Hossage Obituary
William Hossage, 85, of Wilkes-Barre passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Allied Services Meade Street Skilled Nursing in Wilkes-Barre.
He was born in Wilkes-Barre, a son of the late Andrew and Amelia Burniski Hossage. Bill was a graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School. He served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a machinist, having worked for Eastern Electrical, the Westinghouse Corp. and the RCA Corp.
Bill was a member of St. Nicholas-St. Mary’s Parish in Wilkes-Barre.
He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He could always be found in his garage fixing something. He especially loved working on and repairing cars.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Margaret Jean Kepp Hosssage on November 3, 2023 and by his daughter, Melissa “Missy” Hossage on January 23, 2025 and by his son-in-law, Paul M. Moran on February 21, 2024. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Marie Shubilla, Mildred “Sis” Mooney and by his brothers, Andrew and Joseph Hossage.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Christina A. Moran, Wilkes-Barre and by his grandsons, Paul W. Moran and his girlfriend, Ally Wootton and Casey J. Moran and his wife, Karen; and by his sister, Catherine Mason; and by several nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.
