Richard P. Toman, 86, of Plains Twp. Passed away Sunday March 2, 2025, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center. He was born in Syracuse, NY the son of the late Adolph and Hattie Fabisiak Toman. Richard was an Army veteran, serving as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. Prior to retirement Richard worked for The Syracuse Herald Journal, Allied Chemical in Solvay, NY, and the Huggins Hospital, Wolfeboro, NH.
Dick, affectionately known to many, passed peacefully, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Renowned for his sharp wit and always ready with a funny story or joke, he took great joy in brightening the lives of others and witnessing their smiles. His life was one of love, honor, and integrity. While his passing has left a deep void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew him, we ask that you remember him not for the way his journey ended, but for the remarkable way he lived and the lasting impact he had on the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.
Preceded in death by his son, Jim Toman and grandson Micah Adams.
Survived by sons, Tim Toman and his wife Lisa, John Ball and his wife Kelly, daughters, Michelle Toman and her wife Tracie, Linda Ball Griffin and her husband Tom, Donna Ball, daughter-in-law, Debbie Toman, his best friend for over 80 years, Joseph “Joey” Fantauzzi, grandchildren, Tommy, Abby, Katie, Kody, Amanda, Laura, Chelsea, Jake, great grandchildren, Logan, Mackenzie, Kennedy, Mason, Konnor, Kasey, Sophia, Addley, Autumn, Max, Bradley, and Zooey.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family
