Dorothy L. Adams, 98, of Hanover Township, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025 at her home, surrounded by her nephews and nieces.

She was born in Ashland, PA; the daughter of the late George Howard Adams and Frieda E. Moyer Adams. Dorothy was a graduate of Ashland High School and the Abington Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She furthered her Nursing education during the later years of WWII at the University of Georgia and received her master’s degree in Nursing from College Misercordia.

Dorothy was formerly employed as a Registered Nurse at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Atlanta, Georgia, and later at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Plains Township, where she cared for our Veterans for 35 years, prior to her retirement.

Dorothy was a devout member of the Firwood United Methodist Church in Wilkes-Barre. She loved to travel with friends, and visit with her nephews and nieces and their extended families.

She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, George Richard “Dick” Adams and his wife, Elizabeth Ann Adams.

Dorothy is survived by her loving nephews and nieces, Howard Earl Adams and his wife, Wendy, Boothwyn, PA; Craig Richard Adams and his wife, Debbie, Butler, PA and Dr. Eric Douglas Adams and his wife, Dr. Kristin Adams, Latrobe, PA. She is also survived by 9 great nieces and nephews and 11 great great nieces and nephews.

Dorothy’s funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 10 AM in the Firwood United Methodist Church, 399 Old River Road, Wilkes-Barre. Her Pastor, Rev. Joseph Ewoodzie, will officiate. Interment will be in Christ Church Cemetery in Ashland.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9 – 10 am in the Church, prior to the funeral service.
