Rosemary K. Tedesco Obituary

Rosemary Tedesco, 85, passed away on May 22, 2025, at the Elan Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center, Scranton, PA. Born July 27, 1939, in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Edward C. Kemmerer and Rose (Hummer) Kemmerer. She was a graduate of St. Nicholas High School Class of 1958, Wilkes-Barre. She worked as a Teacher’s Aide and Librarian Aide at Ash Street Elementary School and Wilkes-Barre Township Jr. High School. She also worked for over 30 years at the Sears department store in Wilkes-Barre Township. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Church, Exeter.


She was proceeded in death by her first husband Robert M. Grencavage, sister Theresa Kemmerer, and brothers Donald and Edward N. Kemmerer. Surviving are her daughter, Sharon Voelkner and husband Robert (Ransom Township), son, Robert E. Grencavage (Wilkes-Barre Township), granddaughters, Kathryn (Edinburgh, Scotland) and Krysten (Haw River, NC), sister, Mary May and husband Jack (Nanticoke), and many nieces and nephews.


Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday May 29, 2025, from Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre with Father Paul McDonnell officiating. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township. A viewing for friends and family will be held from 5-7pm on Wednesday May 28 at Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Spooky Lou’s Kitty Rescue, Freeland as she was a lifelong owner and lover of cats, as well as Beyond the Finish Line Standardbred adoption facility for retired racehorses, PA-93 Drums. Both are 501 (c) (3) non-profits.
