Mary Johann Sobeck, 80, of Wilkes-Barre Township, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at her home.
She was born in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late John Joseph and Margaret Mary Kundreskas Kinsel. Mary was a graduate of E.L. Meyers High School. Prior to her retirement, she was employed for many years in the business and accounting office for PG&W and UGI.
Mary was a member of Our Lady of Hope Parish, Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Joseph E. Sobeck, in 2022.
Mary is survived by her adopted family, Sunil, Ancy, Neah and Nikisha Lukose.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Friday, May 30, 2025 in Our Lady of Hope Parish, 40 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre. A visitation for family and friends will be held at the church, from 9:30 am until the time of the service. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Maternity Cemetery, West Wyoming.
Those attending the visitation and mass are asked to go directly to the church. Parking is available in the church parking lots located on S. Hancock Street, behind the church.
