Stella Sylvia “Tootsie” (Piekanski) Fiedorczyk, 86, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Allied Services Hospice Center, Wilkes-Barre, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Larksville, one of four daughters and two sons of the late Edward and Stella Gembitski Piekanski. Stella was a 1956 graduate of Larksville High School. She was formerly employed by the Andrew Geller shoe factory, a housekeeper for St Al’s at the Rectory, The Half Circle BBQ and later she was employed by the Luzerne County Transportation Authority, prior to her retirement.

But Stella’s most important job was being a stay-at-home mom and raising her family. The one thing you could count on was dinner on the table by four. Her family meant everything to her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Florence (Piekanski) Jones, and Veronica (Piekanski) Cascarelli; brother, Edward Piekanski; brother-in-law, Robert Jones and by her nephew and godson, Robert Jones Jr.

Stella is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Stanley Steven Fiedorczyk; and by her sons, Steven Edward Fiedorczyk and his wife, Mary Margaret (Feher) Fiedorczyk, Drums and Stanley (Bub)Joseph Fiedorczyk and his wife, Jill Francis (Maziekas) Fiedorczyk, Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren, Steven, Brandon, Marcus, Sophia, Joshua and Zachary. She is also survived by her brother, Joseph Piekanski, Saint Lucie, FL; sister, Paulette (Piekanski) Psolka, Shavertown; Sisters-in-law, Marion (Fiedorczyk) Rudick, Hosham, PA; Margaret Piekanski, Glasgow, Scotland; As well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Thursday June 5, 2025, from Our Lady of Hope Parish, 40 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday June 4, 2025, from Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre.
