Daniel Wasielewski Obituary

Daniel Wasielewski, 82, of Wapwallopen passed away Saturday November 22, 2025. He was born February 24, 1943 in Pittston to the late Daniel and Nancy Lombardo Wasielewski. Daniel attended Pittston High School and worked as a welder at Foster Wheeler prior to his retirement. He enjoyed tinkering, gardening and Thursday afternoon bowling league at Chacko’s in Wilkes-Barre, but nothing was more important to him than his family. Family and friends will always remember him as the favorite brother, uncle, pop-pop, friend, etc. who you could always count on to fix a computer, save a buck or tell a joke he had up his sleeve. Maybe even literally! He played a mean game of cards and somehow always made his bid in pitch, even when dealt a lousy hand. In typical fashion, he won the last game he played. He will forever sing, “We are the champions!” while awaiting his card partners to catch up with him someday…mustard!

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Alan Wasielewski, and brother, Dominick Wasielewski.

He is survived by the love of his life, Patricia Fino Wasielewski, sons, Daniel Wasielewski & Mark Curry, daughters, Lisa Unvarsky & Jill Jones, siblings, Richard Wasielewski, Jeanette Smith & Nancy Lee Whitecavage, grandchildren, AJ, Daniel, Joshua, Cassandra, Kelly, Anthony, Kayla, Bryce & Molly, along with multiple beloved nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday November 26, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home 89 Park Ave. Wilkes-Barre.
