Barbara A. Brannigan, 82, of Wilkes-Barre passed away peacefully Sunday March 1, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospice, Bethlehem after a brief illness. She was born in the Mayflower section of Wilkes-Barre the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Fedash Lipka. Barbara graduated from G.A.R. High School, class of 1961. She belonged to the former St. Mary’s Maternity Church, Wilkes-Barre.
She was the sweetest soul with a great sense of humor who always had a kind word or compliment for everyone.
Barbara enjoyed spending time with her daughter either just having coffee, going out to dinner or shopping. She also enjoyed bingo and loved playing scratch off tickets.
Preceded in death by her son, William E. Brannigan Jr., and sister, Marion Blessner.
Survived by her daughter, Susan Thomas Francy and her husband, Brian, Stroudsburg, sister Linda Meader and her husband Jeff, Copperopolis, CA, several nephews and sweet grand-dog Coco
Funeral Service will be held Friday, March 6, 2026, at Noon from Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home 89 Park Ave. Wilkes- Barre.
A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, March 6, 2026, from 11:00 am to Noon from Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home 89 Park Ave. Wilkes- Barre.
Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
