George R. Andras, of Laceyville passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at the VA Hospital.
George was born on May 25, 1937, in Hazleton, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late George and Myrt Stortz Andras. He graduated from Freeland High School in 1956. Following high school, he entered into the US Air Force. He proudly served his country for 20 years serving as an OSI during the Korean War.
George was the retired Chief of Police of both Wyalusing and Laceyville boroughs, serving the communities of Wyoming and Bradford counties for over twenty years.
George loved to go fishing, taking rides in the country, and watching wildlife with his son Darrell with whom he resided with recently.
He is survived by his four sons, Darrell Sanders Andras, with whom he resided, Jeffery Andras of Rocky Mount, NC, Mark Andras, and Tim Andras. He is also survived by his grandson, Lakota Soul Sanders of West Virginia and his brother, Roger Andras of Danville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 39 years, Carol Ann Kucharski Andras in 2024.
Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
