T. Lynette Villano, 80, of Edwardsville, PA died Monday, August 31st at Allied Services Inpatient Hospice in the comfort of her family and at peace and pain free. Lynette had fought a long and courageous battle with metastasized breast cancer.

Prior to her move to Edwardsville in 2025, she resided in West Pittston for over 40 years. In her younger years, Lynette was very active in West Pittston town activities. She served on the West Pittston Community Pool Committee and was also involved with West Pittston Little League.

Lynette was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Roche Paraventi. She was born in Wilkes-Barre and graduated from St. John the Evangelist Grade School and St. Mary’s High School Class of 1963.

Lynette was employed for many years at Wyoming Valley Sanitary Authority as Customer Service Representative and Billing Clerk.

Lynette was very involved in local politics and was a longtime Republican activist. She was a former chair of Luzerne County Republican Committee and was the first woman to serve in this role. She served as a 3-time delegate to the Republican National Convention, State committee woman, LCTA Board member, and countless other titles.

Besides politics, Lynette enjoyed travel with family and friends, especially summer weeks spent at Cape Cod and trips to the Caribbean, Paris and Italy.

Lynette was predeceased by her husband, Ronald J. Villano; her son, Michael Villano; her mother, Elizabeth Roche Paraventi; and her brother, R. Michael Paraventi.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Villano Mulvey of Huntsville, AL, son and daughter-in-law Ronald M. and Tracy Villano, Forty-Fort, PA, sister and brother-in-law Susan Paraventi and Alan Eldridge, Orleans, MA, grandchildren James Mulvey, West Wyoming, PA, Connor Mulvey, Washington, DC, Robert Jevin, Forty-Fort, PA, Justin Varvaglione, East Stroudsburg, PA, as well as two great-granddaughters, Abby and Jules Jevin, who fondly called her Gigi. Lynette also leaves her sisters-in-law Emily Paraventi, Frances Villano, Tosca Villano, and Muriel Villano Smith, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.

A viewing will be held Thursday, Sept. 3rd, from 5:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. at Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, PA

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Ignatius Loyola Church, 339 North Maple Avenue, Kingston, PA on Friday, Sept. 4th, at 10:00 A.M. everyone is asked to go directly to church.

A private burial will be held for family at a later date.
