Obituary of Anthony J. Simenkiewicz

Anthony J. Simenkiewicz, 89, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at the Maple Ridge Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Kingston. He was born in Wilkes-Barre, a son of the late Anthony and Lottie Stusnick Simenkiewicz. Anthony was a graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School and he attended Penn State University. Prior to his retirement, he served as a police officer for Wilkes-Barre for many years. Anthony was a former member of St. Andrew Parish in Wilkes-Barre. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Dalla Verdi Simenkiewicz in 2011. He is survived by his children, Mary Ann Anderscavage, Edwardsville and, Anthony Simenkiewicz, Endicott, NY; 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11 am in the chapel of St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1594 S. Main Street, Hanover Township. Deacon William Behm will officiate.
