Obituary of Lillian Danilack

Lillian Danilack, 94, of Mountain Top, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024, in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, after a brief illness. She was born in Forest City, a daughter of the late Stanley and Anna Mikloiche Bochniak. She attended Wilkes-Barre City Schools. Lillian was employed for many years in the local garment industry, retiring from Leslie Fay in 1994. Lillian was a devoted member of St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church in Wilkes-Barre, where she was a board member and was an active participant in church projects. She was also a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Andrew Danilack in 2000 and by her brother, Thomas Bochniak, and by her sister, Barbara Rubitski. Lillian is survived by her loving children, David Danilack and his wife, Andrea, of Mountain Top, with whom she resided, and Judith Ann White and her husband, Gerald, of Mountain Top. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Valery Danilack-Fekete and her husband, Jason, Stephany Contrella and her husband, Nathan, Aaron Danilack and his wife, Julie Ann, Delia and Alexandrea White; great grandson, Maxwell Contrella; and by her nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 10 am in St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, 58 Seneca Street, Wilkes-Barre. Archpriest Michael Lepa will officiate. Interment will be in Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas. A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Church from 3-6 pm on Sunday and from 9-10 am on Monday. Parastas Service will be held on Sunday at 5 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lillian’s memory to St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, 58 Seneca Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
