Obituary of Frank Pisano

Frank A. Pisano, 67, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, PA, passed away on Monday, April 1,2024 at Rockledge Health and Rehabilitation in Rockledge, FL. He was born in Wilkes-Barre, on February 7, 1957, a son of the late Francisco “Frank” and Beverly Pisano. Frank was a 1976 graduate of GAR Memorial High School. While he attended high school, he was employed at Shooky’s Sons Deli Restaurant on South Main Street in the Provincial Towers Building as a short order line cook, where he honed his passion for cooking. Several years later, Frank transitioned to the Woodlands Inn and Resort as a Sous Chef. Frank spent almost a decade at the Woodlands, again honing his passion for cooking and baking. Eventually Frank focused solely on baking and worked for the Insalaco Markets. He worked at several of their stores over the years including their Pittston, West Pittston, Clarks Green and Old Forge stores, where he quickly became friends with many of the customers to provide them with specialties such as cakes, pies and birthday cakes. His customers all knew him as “Frank the Baker!” Frank also spent several years baking at Rossi’s Market in Pittston. I would like to thank Charlene and her staff at Plymouth Manor, Plymouth PA for their kindness and care during Frank’s stay at their facility. I would also like to thank the nurses and CNA staff at Rockledge Health and Rehabilitation for the love and care they showed Frank over the past two years. As a young man Frank enjoyed bowling. He was a member of the Stanton Lane’s bowling league. Frank also enjoyed playing darts and was a member of McCarthy’s Tavern on the Hill dart league. Frank spent the last 2 1/2 years living in South Florida under the Guardianship and care of his brother, Mario. Frank truly enjoyed the day trips visiting the beaches of the Space Coast and the Treasure Coast. He loved the different types of palm trees and just watching the waves roll in with his toes in the sand. His favorite spot by far was visiting Port Canaveral to watch the cruise ships sailing in and out of the port. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 am from the Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 am in SS Peter & Paul Parish, 13 Hudson Road, Plains. Interment will be in the Italian Independent Cemetery, West Wyoming. A visitation for Frank will be held on Tuesday from 5-7 pm at the funeral home.
