Obituary of Richard Joseph Williams

Richard J. Williams, 67, of Wilkes-Barre Twp. Passed away at home Tuesday April 9, 2024. He was born in Wilkes-Barre to the late James G. and Dorothy D. Haslinsky Williams. Richard graduated from G.A.R. High School, class of 1975, and Wilkes-Barre Vocational Technical School for electrical certification in 1976. He has worked at Koehler-Bright Star Inc., Wilkes-Barre, U.S. Seal, West Wyoming, Valley Distributing and Storage, Laflin, and prior to his retirement he was employed at Offset Paperback, Dallas. Richard was a member of The American Legion, Post 815, and the Ukrainian Literary Association. Our dear brother Rich loved the outdoors. He loved camping, hunting, fishing, and enjoyed observing animal behavior whenever he was in the woods. Rich was fondly referred to as “Mountain Man” by many family and friends. Ina, his German Shepard, was his constant companion and the joy of his life. Her loss devastated him but now they are joyfully reunited in eternity and can run wild, run free. He was preceded in death by his brother, James A. Williams. Survived by sisters, JoAnne Williams Gaughan, and her husband Joseph, Rose Ann Williams Heckman, and her husband David, several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 7 p.m. Saturday April 20, 2024, from the Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home 89 Park Ave. Wilkes-Barre. Relatives and friends, my call from 5:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Online condolences can be made by visiting Richard’s obituary at www.ngjfuneral.com
