Obituary of Ann Elizabeth Berrini
Please share a memory of Ann to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ann Elizabeth Berrini, 69, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at the Allied Services Hospice Center in Wilkes-Barre.
She was born in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late Michael and Ann Kelly Guzzo. Ann was a graduate of Coughlin High School, class of 1972, where she met and started dating her future husband. They would spend 55 years together. A testament to her loyalty to family and those she loved.
In addition to her devotion to family and friends, Ann extended kindness to all that she met. Casual acquaintances quickly became unlikely friendships, as she listened with genuine interest and always remembered the details the next time they spoke. Her enthusiasm and positivity as a high school cheerleader continued throughout her life, always cheering and rooting for family and friends in all that they did.
Ann enjoyed arts, entertainment and fine dining, often taking trips to New York City to see musicals and have delicious meals. In Ann’s company her laughter was infectious and brightened any room. She truly did live for the moment and focused on the bright side of life.
Prior to her retirement, Ann was employed for 50 years at Conyngham & Company and later at Wegmans. Ann was a member of St. Nicholas – St. Mary’s Parish in Wilkes-Barre. At St. Dominic’s Church she taught Sunday School and also coached youth soccer in Parsons.
Ann is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Dominick Berrini and by her sons, Dominic Berrini, Burlington, VT and Samuel Berrini and his wife, Marissa, Charlotte, NC; sister, Kathleen Guzzo Williams and her husband, David; brothers, Michael Guzzo and his wife, Kathy, and Samuel Guzzo and his wife, Michele. She also survived by her mother-in-law, Marion Berrini; brother-in-law, Michael Berrini; sisters-in-law, Michelle Casey and her husband, Jack and Diane Puchalski and her husband, Robert; aunt, Sister Ellen Kelly, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Ann’s husband, Dominick, and her family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Allied Services Hospice Center for their compassionate care. They are truly angels on earth.
