Obituary of Trudy Nevolas

Trudy Nevolas, 89, of Lake Township passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024 at the Kingston Health Care Center. She was born in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late Wilbur and Gertrude Rider Hoyt. Trudy was graduate of St. Nicholas High School in Wilkes-Barre. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed at King’s College and she was later employed as a secretary for many years at St. Nicholas Church in Wilkes-Barre. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Rosalie Anthony and by her brother, Charles “Pugsy” Hoyt. Trudy is survived by her sons, Frank Nevolas and his wife, Marina, Harveys Lake and Ted Nevolas and his wife, Susan, Del City, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Scott Cummings, Sara McKenzie and Audrey McKenzie; brother, Will Hoyt and his partner, Rosemary McNamara, New York City; sister, Lois Murphy, Odenton, MD; nieces and nephews, Stacey Hoyt, Chuck Hoyt, Blaise Hoyt and Wade Hoyt; Kimberly, Rachel and Alex; and Cheryl, Melissa and Michelle; great nieces and nephews, Joseph Wrhel, Matthew Wrhel, Alexander and Brandon Hoyt; great great niece, Kelsey Wrhel. A celebration of Trudy’s life will begin with a visitation for family and friends from 9 am – 10 am on Saturday at the Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, followed by a service at 10 am. Rev. Joseph D. Veresy, Pastor of St. Nicholas Church will officiate Interment will be in Fern Knoll Cemetery, Dallas. Condolences may be sent by visiting Trudy’s obituary at www.ngjfuneral.com.
