Nicholas J. Skiro Obituary
Nicholas J. Skiro, 73, of Wilkes-Barre passed away unexpectantly on Saturday, September 28, 2024 in Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.
He was born in Wilkes-Barre, a son of the late Nicholas and Helen Potishnak Skiro. Nick was a 1969 graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School. He was an Army Veteran. Nick was a union laborer, working as a journeyman printer for many years, having worked at Unigraphic Color Printing, International Color and Panel Printing.
Nick was an avid outdoorsman. He loved camping, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jean M. Janick-Skiro. Also surviving are his sisters, Sylvia Zavatsky, Wilkes-Barre; and Joyce Skiro-Young, East Brunswick, NJ; brothers, Donald Skiro, Plains Township; and Paul Skiro and his wife, Alice, Mountain Top; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.
