Obituary of Rosemary Kindred

Rosemary Meys Kindred, 87, of Bear Creek Township, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township. She was born in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late John and Anna Knoedlseder Meys. Rosemary was a graduate of St. Nicholas High School, class of 1954, the Wyoming Seminary Dean School of Business, class of 1955 and she attended Wilkes University and Misericordia University. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed for 35 years at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Church in Bear Creek Township. Rosemary spent her free time, upon retiring, doing decorative painting, playing golf and gardening. She had fond memories of the many friends she cultivated in these endeavors. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Thomas J. Kindred in 2016. She was also preceded in death by her brother, John Meys in 1991 and by her sister, Anne Landis in 2010. Rosemary is survived by her sister-in-law, Alice Patton, Dallas and by her numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. A celebration of Rosemary’s life will begin with a visitation from 10 – 11 am on Friday in St. Elizabeth Church, 5700 Bear Creek Blvd (Rte. 115), Bear Creek Township, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Her Pastor, Rev. Rawel Toppo, will officiate. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Elizabeth Church.
