Obituary of Charles Calabrese

Charles Calabrese, 86, of Wilkes-Barre passed away Monday, October 14, 2024, at Kingston Rehabilitation, Kingston. He was born in Wilkes-Barre the son of the late Leo and Marianna Catalogna Calabrese. Charles graduated from G.A.R. High School, class of 1956. He served in the U.S. Navy. Charles retired from Briden America, as a machinist. He was a member of the former Holy Rosary Church, Wilkes-Barre. He never meets a stranger, loved to make people laugh, and enjoyed dancing. Preceded in death by companions Marjie Walsh and Rose Sherman, stepdaughter, Terrie Monroe. Survived by his sister, Antoinette ”Toni” Motley and her husband Robert, Manhattan, KS, step-children, Rosemary Lee, Judith Stephens, Susan Rogers, Carolyn Lamming, Joseph and Harold Sherman, Keith Walsh, Shaun Walsh, Trisha Walsh, niece, Heather Martin, nephew, Christopher Abod, great nieces and nephews, Adrian and Kierra Martin, and all of the Sherman and Walsh Families. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday October 19, 2024, from the Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave. Wilkes-Barre. Family and friends may gather from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Internment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
