Obituary of Theresa B. Richards

Theresa B. Richards of Wilkes-Barre passed away on Friday, November the 8th at the Allied Center City Nursing home in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. where she was receiving care from Allied Hospice. Daughter of the late Thaddeus and Julie Ostrowski. She was born on October 23rd, 1932. She attended Marymount Grade School and graduated from Marymount High School class of 1949. Graduated from Wilkes-Barre Business College in 1952. Worked at Clover Dress Co., Northeastern Blood Center, and R&B Wall Co. Married October 25, 1952, to David P. Richards. In their earlier years, her and her husband were active in church affairs and volunteered at the V.A. Medical Hospital. She was a volunteer for the Blind Association for 40 years. Lifelong member of Our Lady of Hope Parish. She was preceded in death by husband David, and her sons John who is survived by longtime companion Joyce Johnson, Teddy who is survived by his wife Katie Richards. Here sister Barbara and her husband Robert Gilbert, and brother John who is survived by his wife Maryann Ostrowski, Granddaughter Danielle. Surviving is her sister Anna Ostrowski Clarks- Summit, sons David and wife Debra, Wilkes-Barre, Robert and wife Eve, Nanticoke, Paul and wife Theresa, Mountain Top. Nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, November the 13th at the Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave. Wilkes-Barre. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30am in Our Lady of Hope Parish. 40 Park Ave. Wilkes-Barre, Rev. John Terry officiating. Interment in parish cemetery, West Wyoming, Pa.
