Alice Margaret Grohowski Bonk, 81, of Dupont passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late Joseph and Betty Lynch Grohowski. Alice attended G.A.R. Memorial High School. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Letica Corp. in Pittston. Alice was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Dupont.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Brian Grohowski; nephew, Jarad Grohowski and sister-in-law, Joyce Grohowski.

Alice is survived by her children, Dennis A. Bonk and his fiancée, Cathy Jacobino, Ashley; Charyl A. Nagy and her husband, Michael, Dupont; and Jeanine Zaleski and her husband, Thomas, Wilkes-Barre Township; 11 grandchildren, Michael Nagy, Riley Nagy, Corrinia Berman, Allen (AJ) Bonk, Joshua Jacobino, Michelle Shaeffer, Emery Zaleski, Colleen Zaleski, Corinne Zaleski, Lorianne Ankner and Thomas Zaleski and one, soon to be expected, great grandchild. She is also survived by her siblings, Raymond Grohowski, Wilkes-Barre Township; Bonnie Tomcho and her husband, Barry, Ashley; and Gary Grohowski and his wife, Heidi, Pittsfield, MA; sister-in-law, Maureen Grohowski, Wilkes-Barre Township and by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024 at 10 am in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 214 Lackawanna Avenue, Dupont. Family and friends attending the Mass are asked to go directly to the Church on Monday. Private interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024, from 3-6 pm at the Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alice’s memory to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 30 E.D. Preate Drive, Suite 108, Moosic, PA 18507 or to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
