Lawrence E. Lynch, 77, of Wilkes-Barre passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024 in the Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton.
He was born in Wilkes-Barre, a son of the late Lawrence E. and Mary Horan Lynch. Larry was employed for many years as a representative with Ryder Truck Lines and Road Scholar Transportation, prior to his retirement.
He was a member of St. Nicholas-St. Mary’s Parish in Wilkes-Barre.
Larry was an avid hunter. He loved to golf and was a former member of the Wyoming Valley Country Club. Larry was a diehard Penn State sports fan, especially football.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth Wasil Lynch in 2016.
Larry is survived by his son, Christopher Lynch and his wife, Debra of Avoca and by his grandson, Christopher John (C.J.) Lynch and his wife, Elizabeth and their daughter, Madelyn Elizabeth; and granddaughter, Kylie Morgan Lynch. He is also survived by his brother, Jack Lynch and his wife, Patricia of NJ and their children Kevin, Brian, David and Katie and by his girlfriend, Joyce Jones.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 1 pm in St. Nicholas-St. Mary’s Parish, 226 S. Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre. Private interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 12 – 1 pm on Friday in the Church prior to his Mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959
