Obituary of Patricia J. Quinn
Please share a memory of Patricia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Patricia Joan Quinn, born October 22, 1943, passed away peacefully in sleep on Wednesday, January 28, 2021 at Hampton House Nursing Home in Hanover Township.
The daughter of John Quinn and Eleanor Flaherty Quinn of Wilkes-Barre Township, Patricia was known for her adventurous spirit, sharp wit, and encompassing hospitality. Stories of her escapades (true and exaggerated) are still shared amongst those who knew and loved her. A graduate of Wilkes-Barre Township High School, Patricia spent most of her life in Georgetown and was a member of St. Joseph’s Monastery, the Donegal Society of Greater Wilkes-Barre, and the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians. Patricia was a raucous cheerleader, encouraging her nieces’ and nephews’ teams on the athletic fields, cheering on her father’s and brother’s basketball teams, and keeping tabs on the Fightin’ Irish.
Patricia was preceded in life by her parents, her husband James Doherty and her son Patrick Astolfi. She is survived by her sister Suzanne Quinn Cosgrove, brother John Quinn, sister-in-law Betty Quinn, daughter Erin Astolfi Blank, son-in-law Matthew Blank, and grandchildren Ethan and Adin Blank.
An open-air funeral service will commence at noon on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hanover Township, where she will be interred amongst her late family’s resting places.
In lieu of flowers and gifts the family requests that she be honored with the financial support of the American Heart Association, a charity that Patricia supported throughout her life.
