Obituary of Alfred A Mariani Jr.

Alfred A. Mariani Jr., 76, of Plains died Sunday August 8, 2021, at the Kingston Health Care Center after a short illness. Alfred was born October 26, 1944, in Wilkes-Barre to the late Alfred A. Mariani Sr. And Clara Baldassini. In addition to his parents Alfred was preceded in death by a younger brother John P. Mariani. Alfred was a 1962 graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Plains and Kings College Wilkes-Barre class of 1966 where he earned a degree in Spanish. Alfred taught Spanish at Lakemont Academy in Dundee, New York and the Phelps School in Malvern, Pa. Most recently he worked in administration at Allied Services in Wilkes-Barre from which he retired in 2007. He is survived by a brother Anthony P. Mariani and wife Kathleen Stasik Mariani , a niece Allyson Mariani and nephew United States Army Specialist Anthony Phillip Mariani .Alfred enjoyed reading the Bible and watching EWTN on television . He was a member of Maria Goretti Church, Laflin. A funeral service will be held on Thursday August 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Edwards-Russin funeral and cremation Services Inc. 717 Main Street Edwardsville www.russincares.com. Friends and relatives are invited to call on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. til time of service in the funeral home. Private interment at the Italian Independent Cemetery, West Wyoming.
